Have you reviewed your website design lately? Have you put it off because you think it may take too long? We have some quick and easy tips on what to focus on for your review:

Top of the Page - What does the visitor see when they get to your site?
  • Make sure your logo is visible and easy to find. Many times the logo is an afterthought and gets plugged in a tiny space in the header. Your logo needs to stand out and remind the visitor what site they are on.
  • The trend for 2010 is to use very large logos/headers that help your visitors remember you.
Navigation - Does your navigation fit in with the design? Is it easy to follow?
  • Your site’s navigation is very important in leading the visitor throughout the site. If the design is intricate, it doesn’t mean the navigation has to be also. Make sure your navigation doesn’t get lost within the design.
  • The trend for 2010 is minimal navigation, narrowing down the visitor’s choices so the direction is clear.
Content & Imagery - Do any pages on your website resemble a book?
  • Just like the minimal navigation, your site content does not need to give each and every detail sentence by sentence. Remember, your site visitors don’t expect – or want – to read every minute detail. Lead them to the next step in the conversion process with bulleted lists and short sentences.
  • Images play a big part in your site’s design. Too many images create clutter and make it difficult for the user to focus on what you really want them to take in. Keep your images limited and relevant.
  • The trend for 2010 is to use one main image, with a quick hit to the content.
