Medina, Ohio, July 6, 2009. The Medina County Career Center announces the release of its redesigned website. Designed by Chad Allan Consulting of Medina, www.mcjvs.org offers a more appealing, user-friendly experience with added information and functionality.
In making the announcement, Webmaster Mari Engelhart said, “I have been the webmaster of the Medina County Career Center for over six years. The Medina County Career Center is a leader in technology, academic standards, and career-technical training for both high school students and adult learners. Over the years, the information and activity on our website has increased dramatically. I wanted to redevelop our site to be more Web 2.0 in design, more community friendly, and have it meet the highest standards in security, content management, document delivery, online commerce, and dynamic usability.”
Highlights of the new site include the Community Connection which allows site visitors to explore the MCCC Online Store or to view information about services offered by Today’s Image Salon, Preschool and Childcare Services, Paws-to-Play Pet Shop or the ever-popular Center Café Restaurant. This section also features a Calendar of Events, Job Postings and an Alumni Feedback page.
The site also features portals where students and parents can download forms, retrieve class information, access grades, apply online, register, and pay course fees. Engelhart adds that the most compelling feature of the new website is that it provides staff, students, parents, and community with a dynamic connection to our content including services, events, customer services, videos, electronic newsletters, and the ability to follow us on Twitter.
Anyone searching for adult learning options – including GED preparation – will benefit from the upgraded Adult Learning page, which contains information about both full- and part-time programs, along with admissions and financial aid information. Throughout the new site, “quick links” help users find the information they need quickly and easily.
Joining Engelhart in announcing the new site, Chad Wilson, President of Chad Allan Consulting, said, “Our company has hired students from the MCCC software engineering program and we’re consistently impressed with the caliber of education that MCCC students receive. Partnering with MCCC on this project allowed us to take advantage of their technical skills to contribute to the success of an institution that has made such a huge contribution to our community.”
Engelhart added, “Chad and I met during the Leadership Medina County Class of 2005. Like me, Chad has a high commitment to our community. Chad has served on our Advisory Committee as well as hired MCCC students. I had utmost confidence with his programming expertise and dedication to be trusted with making the vision of the new website come to fruition.”
